What can I expect during my first therapy session?

During your first therapy session, we will discuss your concerns, goals, and background to understand your needs. This initial meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get to know my approach to therapy.

We’ll work together to develop a plan tailored to your goals and preferences.

How long does each therapy session last?
Each therapy session typically lasts about 50 minutes unless this is your first time.  Typically we do an hour and a half or 80 minutes the first session. However, the duration may vary depending on the type of therapy and your individual needs. We can discuss and adjust the session length based on your preferences and goals.
How many sessions will I need to attend?
The number of sessions required varies based on individual goals and the nature of the issues being addressed. Some clients may benefit from just a few sessions, while others might need longer-term therapy. Together, we will regularly review your progress and adjust the frequency and duration of sessions as needed.
Do you offer online therapy sessions?
Yes, I offer online therapy sessions for those who prefer the convenience and flexibility of virtual meetings. Online sessions are conducted via secure video conferencing platforms, ensuring a private and confidential environment for your therapy.
Do you accept insurance, and how is payment handled?
I accept all major credit cards as payment.  I do not accept insurances however, you may be covered by your insurance company for out of network counselors and I can provide a superbill for you to submit to them.  It is best to call them prior to your appointments as you will ultimately be responsible for your bill. Payment can be made via credit card or debit card. If you have any questions about payment options or insurance, feel free to contact me.
